Miami Style

My pictures are a little bit lacking because we spent most of our time "touristing" during weekdays when the locals were at work and during a season that is not prime for tourists. Also, after laying out on the beach and being drained by the sun, I was too lazy to ask anyone for their picture...so I just took most of these while we were on an outside patio sipping pina coladas...yummy!

I didn't really notice any huge correlations between the various outfits, but people definitely tried to keep their attire lightweight due to the hot, hot heat. Color is always in in Miami, so bring your bright clothes and fun patterns if you ever make your own trip!

Going to Miami!

My SO and I are going to Miami, FL to visit one of my best friends. Besides lots of fun in the sun, I'm hoping to get some really cool "street chic" shots! Hopefully, I'll have some great stuff to show you guys when I get back! Till then, check out some of my favorite fashion blogs in the right sidebar of my blog for some great fashion reads!

Street Chic - Wide Belt and Skinny Jeans

So, I was minding my own business at my jewelry sale, when a girl stopped by to look at my jewelry with the cutest outfit. You guys know me...I had to ask for a photo. I loved the way she put the outfit together - the wide belt over the button-up top - the skinny jeans over round toe pumps. It was such a cute outfit!

Unfortunately, you can't see the huge shades that topped the outfit off. She said she got most of it from Urban Outfitters - love that store!

Note the skinny jeans and round toe pumps. The colors in the picture don't look quite the same...her jeans were more of a light grayish color than the photo depicts.

To go with this outfit, I'd like to see something simple (since there's a lot going on with the outfit), but something that keeps the fresh attitude of the look. I recommend the Fiona earrings - the crystal color will match anything and the oval hoops are pretty but simple. Click here or image for details.

We all know plaid is back, but put it together with the preppy sweater paired with the studded belt and this look is smokin'!

Trend Prediction - Asymmetrical Clothes

I caught a glimpse of the Michael Kors ready to wear runway show on Style TV today, and I had a "love at first sight" moment with the asymmetrical designs he showcased. That being said, don't be surprised to see tons of asymmetrical skirts and tops next spring. Who knows, maybe someone will sneak some into their winter 06 clothing lines?! Here's Michael Kors's take on the asymmetrical look...

I love how the skirt is kinda sexy, while the top makes it look a bit more classy

Again, sexy bottom, classy top

Love the loose-fitting dolman-style top that balances this look

Looks to Keep for Spring 2007

Anyone else out there lovin' Fashion Week? While I like looking at runway shots to see what kinds of trends will be out in upcoming seasons, I also like to see what trends will still be in so I can reuse the previous season's looks. I found some awesome "looks to keep" on the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2007 runway:

1. The Bubble Dress

Love it or hate it, it looks like the bubble dress is here to stay. I also really like the scrunched top of this dress

2. Crisp White

I loved the refreshing wave of white that went through outfits all Spring 2006 long...I hope it makes a big comeback next spring!

3. and 4. White Sunglasses and Belts-over-tops

The white sunglasses and the belts-over-tops look were two of my favorite looks for Spring 2006...looks like I'll get good use out of my white, Gucci shades after all!

And my favorite look from the Oscar de la Renta runway show has little to do with Spring 2006...The Spring 2007 sundress:

This is such a "bombshell" look! I love the fresh blue color of the dress paired with the fun, floral print. I'm going to have to start working out now to squeeze into that dress by spring! lol

Carmen Electra - fab as always

Kristian Bell looking oh-so-ladylike

Nicky Hilton reminds me that I still need to get a pair of gray-toned skinny jeans!

Stacie J - Isn't this the Spice Girl? Whoever she is, she looks so sass!

More from Fashion Week later...

Street Chic - Bubbly Fun

I've discovered a great little spot in Greenville, SC (random, I know). There is a new, hip restaurant called "Paris Cafe," which features a real, live, French pastry chef! I've been to France before, and I've been spoiled on what good pastries really are, so to find authentic French pastries so close to home is quite the rarity! The next closest one I know of is in Miami if that tells you anything. Oh, and be sure to try their coffee...I drink a lot of coffee, but they have some of the best I've EVER had! Anywho, I happened to notice that the manager of the cafe had the most adorable outfit on! So chic...I had to grab a picture to share with you fine readers:

Love the bubble skirt and bublle tank - I couldn't pull off 2 bubble pieces together, but it looked good on her - and the fun, blue leggings and ballet flats! I would go no necklace on this outfit or stick with something simple. I'd really like to see this outfit w/ some fresh earrings, like my "Elegant Eve" earrings handmade with vintage lucite (click for details).

Shopaholic Steal - Bronze, Glittery Pumps with Bows

I found a steal yesterday when shopping at Marshall's. Sure, I was there shopping for furniture and decorations, but who can pass up a steal like this:

Bronze, glitter pumps by Charles David - on the clearance rack for a mere $22!

After my yoga class tonight, I took my sweetie out for sushi and wanted to throw something quick but cute on. While browsing my closet, I spotted my new bronze pumps, which have made a place on my shoe rack and wanted to wear something to go with them. I wore a lacy cami, cute flowy, floral top, and cropped jeans - all by Banana Republic:
