The Hunt for the Perfect Pump

Ok darlings, I need your help. I am on a hunt for the perfect pair of pumps...here's the scoop...

I just started a new project at the headquarter office of a major bank, so I want some really snazzy shoes that will make me dressed to impress...aka money is not an object. Not that I'm made of money, but these shoes will be what I like to call "investment chic." I'm not out to buy designer shoes every day, but if I'm going to be wearing these puppies on a regular basis to an important job, they may as well be nice. Actually, I don't have any designer shoes yet (unless Cole Haan counts...hmm), so these would be my first pair...but I digress...

The other part of the deal is that I'm parking a few blocks away from the building where I actually work, so I need shoes that I can actually walk around in that are comfortable. Every girl has a pair of heels they can walk all day in...so, help a fellow fashionista out...

Drop me a comment with your favorite shoe that you can walk comfortably in while still maintaining your chicness. Did I mention I'm working in a bank? The shoes should probably be on the conservative side too. Here's what I'm eyeing at the moment:

Image and item from saks.com - Christian Louboutin Point Toe Pumps - $495 (click for details)

Any other ideas?

You can never go wrong with Manolo Blahniks - and they are actually quite comfortable after breaking them in. I like the pair that I have.

Also, I happen to like Coach - though I don't really see anything on their website right now that would really work. The pair I have are pretty basic, but are super super comfy and I'm wearing them to death.

Hi,
Just found your blog. I hope you don't mind that I added you to the blogs I read on my "The Times of Debbie" blog. You have some really cute finds.

As for classic pumps Manolo has a great pair but they are not the most comfy, although my foot is really wide so most heels are not comfy.

Good luck, Debbie

Of course not Debbie...link on!

Thanks for the comment on Manolos...my friend told me that Choos were more comfy than Manolos...having neither I wouldn't know...lol

My good friend swears by Salvatore Ferragamo shoes..

I've never owned a designer pair in my life, I ought to. I've heard that they're worth it!...:\

Fabulously Broke in the City, ooh...I forgot about Ferragamos! I bought a vintage pair for less than $50 off of ParkerHawn.com and they're still in great condition - even used!

I also swear by ferragamos. The same pair of suede ones I got five years ago still looks amazing. They are retro-ish with a round toe, tortoise heels.

If you're in NYC and working at a bank HQ in midtown, their showcase us store is right on 5th ave and maybe 54th street. They have multiple widths there and the sales people are nice and very helpful. Also, try barney's and bergdorf for manolos.

My most comfortable stiletto is actually a Calvin Klein ankle boot. But its SOOO comfortable (we're talking an 8 hour interview/tour/presentation with few breaks)! I haven't tried a Calvin Klein pump yet, but that is my next task, based on how great these ankle boots feel.

Julie, I will def have to try on some Ferragamos today! Too bad I don't live in NYC...I would stop by that store on my lunch break if I could! They don't have those stores in the south :( but we do have neimans, LV, Burberry, and BCBG :)

Cherish08, you'll have to let me know how the Calvin Kleins work out once you try them
