Corporate Chic: How to Dress for Formal Work

I'm not very happy with this picture. Perhaps after all the color with the turquoise top from yesterday this seems a tad monotone. I dunno, but I do know that if you don't like dressing nice, yet slightly on the boring side, then you should shy away from formal work environments, i.e. Corporate America. It seems in Corporate America, the more boring the outfit, the better. The most popular color combo is black and blue - black dress slacks and blue button downs tops, that is. The most popular outfit is the classic black suit (of course).

Linen Suit: Banana Republic
Peep-Toe Linen Pumps: Banana Republic

You're SOO right. I work in the corporate world and I think my former creative-self is in a clothing-coma, since I can't really wear fashiony stuff to work. It's basic Banana Republic pants, a J. Crew button down shirt and either a cardigan or a blazer. I long to throw on a pair of jeans and a cool tunic to work but I can't. Boo-hoo. That's what weekends are for.

Anyway, I am a contributor to The Fashionable Housewife Blog and you've been tagged. If you would like to participate, all you have to do is post 7 things about yourself. If not, that's alright. But have a wonderful day!!

This outfit may be very monotone, but you pull it off very well, the fit is amazing on you! A punch of color (maybe a bright raspberry or your turquoise tank from the other day if it showed) at the neckline would be perfect!
Thanks so much for all of the daily inspiration!

Why, thanks Christine! Good call on adding color...I had a light yellow top on under this earlier today, but I just wore my cami for the photo.

I like the idea of adding a touch of color (tanks) That way you could get a ton of mileage out of this outfit. :)
