A Louis Worth Loving

Ahh...the Louis Vuitton purse - one of the classic It Bags - a must-have for every fashionista's wardrobe (I don't have one yet...I bought my first LV for my mom's b-day this year instead of for just myself...though I did get the Chanel a few weeks later - it was her first Louis and I was proud to give it to her). I have to admit...the LV can be a tad boring and overdone at times...sometimes you get sick of looking at all those LV's everywhere - especially with all the fakes out there. Personally, I'm not a fan of the fakes...I guess b/c I usually buy the designer goods as a way to treat successes, not to impress random people. I'd rather have one real designer tote than 10 fauxs, but that's just me.

Anywho, while browsing the web tonight, I finally found an LV tote with the classic monogram that is truly chic and relatively affordable (for designer, of course). For anyone shopping for their next It bag, or even their first It bag, check this out - one of Louis's latest looks:

Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Beverly MM $1,090.00 (for Mother's Day 2007)

I love, love, love this! C'est chic, non?

I completely agree with the saving up for a real bag, rather than owning several fakes.

I own two Coach (nothing as luxe as your posted LV, but all that I was willing to spend then) bags that I bought after major achievements: getting my two Masters degrees and my first job in my chosen profession.

My cousin who frequently travels to Hong Kong has offered to buy something for me, but it feels wrong. Other people don't know they're fake, but I would, and who am I trying to fool?

oui, oui, Philipp!

Naddy - me too - I still don't have one! When are you getting yours?

Coach is still nice - at least to me - my first "designer" bag was Coach - they have good quality totes. I agree with you - I buy designer for me, too!

Naddy, I was surprised to see how expensive Coach was in KL. I went last fall and stopped by the KLCC Suria (I hope I got the correct name of the mall, my apologies if I didn't) as well as the airport duty free and they more expensive than what we pay in Canada. It's quite possible that Coach is a North American line that it's cheaper here...?

exactly, they are expensive here
:( so if any of guys coming here, do let me know... mebbe can help me buy coach from US ehehehe

and yes i cant wait for my first LV... i hope she finds it there....

Naddy, if you ever come out to the Seattle, Washington area (granted I'm not sure when or where in the States you'd like to travel to - lots to see and do) you could stop by the Coach outlets at the Burnglington Prime Outlet or Seattle Premium Outlet in Tulalip. I'm from Vancouver, Canada and for a 2 hour drive down, I pick up some very nice scarves (and other treats for myself) - I must have about 20!

Glad to see that people are starting to see that fakes are not the way to go. In addition to it just being TACKY, buying a fake is a just a big middle finger to the minds and creative talents who create the things we love. Support intellectual property rights by NOT buying fakes.
