Chic Swap: Channeling MK and Angie

Please excuse the slightly obnoxious Photoshop-ing, but I wanted to play a bit tonight. :) Girls just wanna have fun, right? Anywho, I wore this first outfit to work a week or so ago and it wasn't until tonight that it kinda reminded me of something Angelina Jolie would wear. Please don't take this as me comparing myself to Angie...I'm just saying the clothes look like something she might sport - you know, blacks...neutrals...heels - she really doesn't wear much color, does she?

I know, I know...the flowers are over the top...

*Swapped the silk top and long gold necklace for an over sized American Apparel T-Shirt and large cross necklace to channel Mary Kate Olsen at the "Weeds" Premiere*


The skirt is shorter, but I didn't have a long black skirt and her necklace is longer, but I probably can't afford the actual cross necklace she's wearing, so this will have to do. :) channeling

Left the outfit on the simple side today as I wanted to show off the new necklace I made this weekend:

I left the buttons of this airy sweater undone and instead wore it like a wrap sweater cinched with a leather, faux-snake-skin metallic belt.

Chic Swap: Summery Skirt Look

I wasn't planning on doing another "Chic Swap" post for awhile (not that I intended to wait any certain period of time), but with temperatures hitting the high 90's (and even low 100's...ick), I'll probably be wearing quite a few skirts this week. Here's what I wore to work today:


*Lost the jacket, swapped the red top for a cooler, white tank, and added a woven leather belt to complete the look*

You may be thinking I'm crazy to wear the jacket in the first shot (even if it's linen), but don't worry, I only wore it inside. I'm a firm believer in the power of layering. :) Also, that Cole Haan daytime clutch I wanted awhile back would probably have been more appropriate, but when you're rushing out the door, you don't have much time to swap everything. Hey, I'm certainly not embarrassed of my Chanel!

Isn't it weird how swapping just a couple items from an outfit can change the entire look?
