Charleston Beach

When visiting Charleston, it's probably good to know that there are 2 main beaches to check out: Folly Beach & Isle of Palms. I've been to Folly Beach a couple of times, but in our most recent trips to Charleston, we usually end up at Isle of Palms:

Isle of Palms

This beach is semi-family oriented, although there's always going to be the party crowd out and about. Now, this is no Myrtle Beach....this beach is pretty small, with only a couple blocks of a "main strip," and it's usually not too crowded. Should you make it to this beach, I definitely recommending finding the WindJammer - it's a bar right on the beach with volleyball courts and AWESOME strawberry daquiries and pina coladas - ask for the Miami Vice if you're feeling brave. This bar has a lot of bands playing from time to time (Sister Hazel and Tonic played while we were there), as well as several famous guests, including Bruce Willis. For good eats, check out Banana Cabana, a cute and informal restaurant on the beach with a nice deck - try the Grilled Mahi Mahi sandwich...yummy!
